People would come by with bread or seeds, and the ducks just made themselves at home, happy and comfortable. I couldn't stop looking at them. Their feathers — those greens shifting into emerald, with warm reddish hints catching the light — were simply too beautiful. I absolutely had to take a photograph and later, I had to paint them.
